After a MARATHON moving session starting at 6:00am, we closed on our 'old' house at 4:00 on Friday. Yikes. We're shoehorned into an efficiency hotel until closing day.
The fire sprinkler. They wouldn't have used the warning sign unless it once happened.
Meanwhile, back at the house, we got our fireplace installed.
The house passed the rough-in inspection, which means we're ready for insulation. Word from the builder is that insulation inspection will be done this afternoon, which means drywall starts soon.
Here is the flooring we've picked out. What we can't decide is if we should do the top-red-dot or the right-red-dot. Please help. (the photo doesn't show it very well, the top one is more of a golden brown where the right one is more of a deep brown)
The carpet will be in the family and living rooms downstairs, the stairs going up and the upstairs hallway. The tile to the left is going to be the fireplace surround.
Monday, we met with the builder to do the layout for the cabinets. The first person we talked with was... suprise... the electrician. We scrambled through that with only one change the following day. Cabinets went ok, no real drama (other than color, but that story isn't finished yet). Oh yeah, they didn't tell us, but we needed flooring and plumbing picked out... errr... yesterday.
